How about using a Squeezebox as a source on the entire system? Stored libraries, internet radio, sirius Pandora for sure, Raphsody I'm pretty sure, and maybe Napster.

The Duet has its own controller that uses WiFi and provides a color GUI. Crestron touchpanels could use the Slim server backend probably, you could figure it out.

It becomes just another source on the whole house system, you solve both problems at once. you would need to work out some GUI and interface issues, but in that size house and that kind of budget, I bet it could be done. I'm pretty sure there is already a Crestron module for the Squezebox.

Worst case, you could use an Apple TV as a source, setup a dedicated PC with iTunes and get at least stored libraries and internet radio.

The Squeezebox would definately work for your problem though. There is even an audiophile version called the Transporter with high end DACs and stuff.
